Decided 2nd DAN Black Belt
I started my martial arts journey in 1997 when I began Judo. I am now a 1st DAN Judo Instructor and a 2nd DAN TaeKwonDo Instructor. I began TaeKwonDo in 2002 under instruction from a world silver medalist. I then moved to the TaekwonDo Academy where I have achieved my 2nd DAN black belt and qualified to teach TaeKwonDo in 2019. My son, Chris, also trains in TaeKwonDo with me and it is great to see how he is progressing and developing his technical and personal skills.
Over the years I have also trained in Karate, Jujitsu & Kendo. I have also attended many multi-discipline martial arts courses with the International Gentle Arts Society.
As a young man I spent 12 years training in British gymnastics gaining a number of awards and assisting in the coaching.
When I am not practicing or teaching martial arts, I work as an independent consultant in computing for the construction industry and have been working in this industry for over 20 years.
My ambition is to strengthen local communities by making martial arts & self defence available and enjoyable to people from all walks of life, age and abilities. I look forward to learning more from Travis and the TaeKwonDo Academy and pass on my knowledge and experiences to future students.
